The Liverpool goalkeeper was pleased to return to Jurgen Klopp's starting line-up
Simon Mignolet has taken to Instagram to reflect on his return to the Liverpool side after Wednesday night’s 3-0 win against Middlesbrough.
The Belgium international was handed his first Premier League start since September after summer signing Loris Karius was relegated to the bench.
Liverpool won just one of their last four Premier League games ahead of their trip Middlesbrough last night following a 4-3 loss at Bournemouth and 2-2 draw with West Ham.
However, Adam Lallana scored either side of half-time and Divock Origi netted in his fifth successive Premier League appearance to secure three points.
Mignolet managed to keep a clean sheet to cement his claim for a starting spot in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park next Monday night.
The Liverpool shot stopper took to Instagram to reflect on his return to Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up.
Mignolet wrote: “Only one thing one was important @liverpoolfc back to winning ways. Thanks for the support #YNWA 🔴👊🏻”
The Belgian shot stopper moved to Liverpool in a £9m deal from Sunderland in 2013.
The Reds are in second place in the Premier League table.
