Denny Welbeck returned to Arsenal training this week following his long lay-off due to injury

Danny Welbeck trained with Arsenal’s first team at London Colney on Wednesday afternoon as the striker stepped up his return form injury.

The England international has been out of action since suffering a serious knee injury towards the end of last season but is now closing in on a return.

Welbeck is yet to make a single appearance for Arsenal this season but will be hoping to play a part for Arsene Wenger’s men in the new year.

He was joined in training on Wednesday with the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny.
