Pundit replies when asked who Arsenal need to sign in January
Stewart Robson says Arsenal do not need to make any signings in the January transfer window
Stewart Robson does not believe that Arsenal need to sign any new players in the January transfer window.
The Gunners are currently looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after they were beaten 2-1 by Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.
The north London side, who are aiming to win the Premier League title for the first time since their famous unbeaten triumph in 2004, are currently third in the table and six points behind Chelsea after 16 games of the season.
There is bound to be plenty of speculation linking Arsenal with a host of players as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
However, Robson feels that the Gunners are not in need of reinforcements, and that instead Arsene Wenger must get the best out of his current crop of players.
Asked who Arsenal need to sign in January, Robson told ESPN FC: “Nobody. They don’t need to buy any players. They have a big enough squad and good enough squad to win the Premier League.
“But they need the manager to get the best out of the players, and they need to defend crosses better when they come into the box.
“I don’t think they need any players. No, they don’t need [a striker] – they’ve got [Alexis] Sanchez who’s playing really well, [Olivier] Giroud can come on and score goals, [Danny] Welbeck at some point will be fit again, [Theo] Walcott can play through the middle.
“They just need to get the best out of the squad they’ve got. Arsene Wenger needs to do his job very well.”
Arsenal are currently gearing up for their Premier League trip to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
