Pundit tips Alexis Sanchez to cause Bayern Munich serious problems against Arsenal

Owen Hargreaves is expecting Alexis Sanchez to have a big impact for Arsenal against Bayern Munich

Owen Hargreaves believes that Alexis Sanchez could prove to be the difference for Arsenal in their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich in the new year.

The Gunners were once again pitted against the Bundesliga champions despite finishing top of their Champions League group.

Arsenal will take on Bayern over two legs in the new year for a place in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

However, Hargreaves feels that Bayern have not made the strongest start to the season under new boss Carlo Ancelotti and is tipping Sanchez to cause them problems next year.

Speaking to BT Sport, former midfielder Hargreaves said: “Boateng has really struggled this season, he was probably the best player in the Bundesliga last season.

“There are issues defensively for Bayern.

“I just think with Sanchez against Hummels and Boateng, I’d fancy Sanchez to score every game.

“If Arsenal can get an away goal in Munich, then it’s game on, no question.”

Sanchez has been in superb form for Arsenal this season and has already hit more than 10 goals for the Gunners in the Premier League.
