Ray Parlour makes prediction about Man City v Arsenal

Ray Parlour looks ahead to Arsenal's showdown with Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon

Ray Parlour feels that Arsenal are well-placed to get a positive result when the Gunners take on Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The north London side head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Everton in midweek.

That result put the brakes on Arsenal’s Premier League title bid as Wenger’s men look to win the top-flight trophy for the first time since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season.

Manchester City, meanwhile, returned to winning ways on Wednesday night with victory over Watford to keep their title hopes on track.

However, former Arsenal midfielder Parlour is confident that the north London side have what it takes to get a positive result against Pep Guardiola’s men at The Etihad.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast, Parlour said: “It [the loss at Everton] was a blip but Arsenal have to bounce back now…

“This is going to be a real test. They played really well up at Manchester City a few seasons ago. They’ve got players who can win games.

“Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez need to turn up. The midfield will be very important with Francis Coquelin and Sanchez. It is an opportunity with the players out for Manchester City. They’re missing key players so Arsenal could take advantage of.

“I think Arsenal can get a result up there.”
