Ray Parlour sends blunt warning to Arsenal about Alexis Sanchez

Ray Parlour discusses the importance of Alexis Sanchez to the current Arsenal team

Ray Parlour has talked up the importance of Alexis Sanchez staying fit for Arsenal in the coming weeks and months.

The Chile international has been in sensational form for the Gunners so far this season and has already scored more than 12 goals for the north London side.

Sanchez has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top attacking players since his arrival at the club from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.

The 27-year-old has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal team so far this season and has again proved his worth to the north London side.

Parlour is a huge admirer of Sanchez but warned Arsenal that they cannot afford for him to get injured ahead of the hectic festive period in the Premier League.

Speaking to the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast ahead of Sunday’s clash with Manchester City, Parlour said: “Alexis Sanchez is so important because he closes people down.

“As a midfielder, you can push in on your man for a high tempo game.

“They would miss him but they’ve got to wrap him in cotton wool. He doesn’t get injured that often. He is robust. He can ride tackles.”
