The former Arsenal midfielder is optimistic that Arsene Wenger's men can sneak to a close-fought win
Ray Parlour believes Arsenal could sneak to a Premier League victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners will be looking to make a swift return to winning ways in the Premier League after Arsenal suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.
Seamus Coleman cancelled out Alexis Sanchez’s first-half opener before Wales international Ashley Williams headed a winner in the closing minutes of the Premier League clash.
The north London outfit will make the trip to title rivals Manchester City after Pep Guardiola’s side were 2-0 winners against Watford at the Etihad Stadium mid-week.
Wenger’s side have only lost to title rivals Liverpool and Merseyside outfit Everton in the Premier League in the 2016-17 season so far.
Speaking to the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast, former Arsenal midfielder Parlour tipped Arsene Wenger’s men to sneak to victory.
“I’ve gone 1-1. I’ve sat on the fence for this one. I wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal won. I was tempted to go for an Arsenal win because if they’re going to be in title contention this season, that’s when you have to have a bit of bottle and come back after a defeat,” Parlour said.
Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and 10 points behind defending champions Leicester City.
