Rio Ferdinand urges Jose Mourinho to keep starting this Man United star
The former Manchester United defender was very impressed with Michael Carrick's performance
Rio Ferdinand was keen to remind Jose Mourinho of Michael Carrick’s continued influence on the Manchester United side after their 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
The veteran England midfielder has managed to retain his place in Mourinho’s starting line-up in recent weeks after Carrick was largely overlooked in the opening months of the 2016-17 season.
The 35-year-old has managed to establish a promising partnership with Spain international Ander Herrera and world-record signing Paul Pogba in the heart of Mourinho’s side.
Carrick has made six Premier League appearances in the current campaign to help the 20-time English champions record successive top-flight victories and keep their top-four hopes alive.
Ferdinand, who played alongside Carrick at West Ham United and Manchester United, singled out the veteran midfielder for special praise following his performance at Selhurst Park.
Another win with @carras16 in the starting line up…!!! Massive 3 points with the teams above winning.. keep momentum!
