Rio Ferdinand’s funny response to Arsenal fans about Premier League defender

The Manchester United legend responds to Arsenal fans about Ashley Williams after their 2-1 loss at Everton

Rio Ferdinand posted a cheeky response to Arsenal supporters after the Gunners lost 2-1 to Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.

The north London side looked to be easing towards three points after in-form Chile international Alexis Sanchez broke the deadlock in the first half on the blue half of Merseyside.

However, Republic of Ireland international Seamus Coleman levelled on the stroke of half-time before Everton summer signing Ashley Williams scored a late winner at Goodison Park.

Ferdinand took to Twitter during the Premier League with Arsenal leading 1-0 to suggest that Arsene Wenger should have signed Wales defender Williams in the summer.

The Manchester United legend received some stick for his claim on social media but the retired England defender had the last laugh after Williams’ late winner for the hosts.

Wenger signed Germany international Shkodran Mustafi in a £35m deal from La Liga outfit Valencia in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners were relegated to third place after Liverpool’s 3-0 win at Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.
