Robbie Savage is backing Manchester United to finish above Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

The Red Devils have won their last three Premier League games thanks to victories over Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion to boost their top-four prospects.

Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table and four points behind Arsenal, who occupy the final Champions League qualifying spot.

The 20-time English champions finished in fifth place under Louis van Gaal last season, with Manchester City pipping their title rivals to fourth spot.

Jose Mourinho’s side are currently five points behind the Citizens in the Premier League table ahead of the visit of Sunderland at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

Former Leicester City midfielder Savage issued his backing for Manchester United in the top-four race.

“Everybody knows I tipped Manchester United to win the league before the start of the season. I think they’ll finish above Manchester City. That’s my shout!” Savage told BBC’s 606 podcast.

The Red Devils signed four players in the summer transfer window after recruiting Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Manchester United won the FA Cup last season.
