Robbie Savage replies when asked who Arsenal should sign in January

Robbie Savage feels that Arsenal need to make a move to sign a replacement for Santi Cazorla in January

Robbie Savage believes that Arsenal need to sign a creative midfield player in the January transfer window to keep them in the title race.

The north London side are set to be without the injured Santi Cazorla for a number of months after the Spanish playmaker underwent ankle surgery last week.

Cazorla is usually one of the first names on the Arsenal team sheet and his absence is sure to be felt by the Gunners during the hectic festive period in the Premier League.

Arsenal maintained their good form in the Premier League on Saturday as they came from behind to beat Stoke City 3-1 and keep themselves in the hunt for the title.

However, former midfielder Savage feels that the Gunners could do with some extra cover in midfield when the transfer window opens in the new year.

Asked what Arsenal need in the January transfer window, Savage told BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show: “Somebody to replace Cazorla, that creative player in a two [in midfield].”
