Shkodran Mustafi takes to social media after his injury setback for Arsenal

Shkodran Mustafi has taken to social media to reveal his dismay at suffering a hamstring injury ahead of Arsenal’s crucial run of fixtures.

The Germany international has been a regular fixture in the Gunners’ first team since his arrival at the club from Valencia in the summer transfer window.

However, the defender was forced off in the first half of Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday at The Emirates and is expected to be out action for around three weeks with a hamstring strain.

And the centre-half could not hide his disappointment at suffering the problem ahead of the crucial run of festive fixtures in the Premier League.

Mustafi posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “There’s never a right time for an injury but at that point of the season it’s extremely bitter.

“I was looking forward to the game against my former club Everton and the clash against Manchester City.

“I’ll do everything I can to recover as quickly as possible. Only positive thoughts on my mind because I know I’ll come back stronger than before. 💪🏽🔜🔙🔛🔝 #sm20”

Arsenal are currently in second place in the Premier League table and three points behind leaders Chelsea after 15 games of the new season.
