Steven Gerrard reacts to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s display in Man United’s 2-0 win at West Brom

Steven Gerrard heaped praise on Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he scored both goals in Manchester United's 2-0 win at West Brom

Steven Gerrard was full of praise for Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the striker scored both goals in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday night.

The Swedish striker once again proved his worth to Jose Mourinho’s men as he netted once in each half to help Manchester United notch up their third win in a row in the Premier League.

Ibrahimovic has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United first-team since his arrival at the club from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer.

And former Liverpool captain Gerrard has been very impressed by what he has seen from the 35-year-old since his arrival in the Premier League.

Speaking on BT Sport after the final whistle on Saturday, Gerrard said: “He’s in terrific shape. He ran for the full 90 minutes today. He worked so hard with the ball and without.

“He’s enjoying his football, he’s smiling and he’s a world-class player. He’s proving it week in, week out.”
