Michael Owen states his prediction for Sunderland v Chelsea
Michael Owen looks ahead to Chelsea's clash with Sunderland in the Premier League on Wednesday
Michael Owen is tipping Chelsea to continue their fine form in the Premier League by beating Sunderland on Wednesday night.
The Blues have been in brilliant form in recent weeks under new manager Antonio Conte and made it nine wins on the spin in the top flight on Sunday afternoon when Diego Costa fired them to a 1-0 win over West Brom at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are looking to make it 10 victories on the spin and keep their place at the top of the Premier League table as the hectic festive period in the Premier League looms large.
The west London side are gearing up for their trip to the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night and former Liverpool striker Owen cannot see anything else but a Chelsea victory.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “A fixture that has seen an average of 3.7 goals per game in the history of the Premier League (30 games) but it is possible that one might be enough for this burgeoning and confident Chelsea side.”
Chelsea are aiming to bounce back from their disastrous campaign last season, when they ended up 10th in the Premier League and without a trophy.
