Thierry Henry comments on Arsenal’s crucial contract situations

Thierry Henry delivers his verdict on the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal beyond 2018

Thierry Henry has talked up the importance of Arsenal tying down Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to new contracts.

The pair’s futures have been a source of speculation in recent weeks after the duo both entered into the final 18 months of their contracts at The Emirates.

Both Ozil and Sanchez have been proving their importance to Arsenal in recent weeks with their strong performances for the Gunners.

It is believed that both players are in talks with the north London club about the possibility of extending their current contracts at Arsenal beyond the summer of 2018.

And Arsenal legend Henry has talked up the importance of the Gunners getting the two players to sign new deals as soon as possible.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Henry said: “I think Arsene is clever enough to know that they have to secure those deals.

“Are they both going to stay? I would want them to stay. [But] you don’t know what is happening behind closed doors.”

Arsenal finished second and without a trophy last season but the Gunners won the FA Cup in 2014 and 2015.
