Thierry Henry delivers verdict on Arsenal’s display against Man City
Thierry Henry has his say on Arsenal's second-half performance against Manchester City on Sunday
Thierry Henry accused Arsenal of not showing up in the second half of their 2-1 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners took the lead early on in the first half when Theo Walcott slotted home after being found by Alexis Sanchez in the box.
However, the north London side failed to take their chances to make it 2-0 in the first half and were punished shortly after the break when Leroy Sane fired home.
The Citizens then netted a winner midway through the second half when Raheem Sterling fired home at the near post.
The defeat was Arsenal’s second in succession in the Premier League and left the Gunners trailing leaders Chelsea by a staggering nine points heading into the hectic festive period in the top flight.
Former Arsenal star Henry was not impressed by what he saw from the Gunners in the second half at The Etihad.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Henry said: “The main thing is that Arsenal didn’t turn up in the second half. They were second best at everything. That’s the key thing, like against Everton.
“Yes, we can talk about offsides and different views, but the main thing for me is that they didn’t turn up in the second half. Man City were all over them.”
Arsenal take on West Brom at The Emirates on Boxing Day.
