Thierry Henry dismisses excuse for Arsenal’s recent dip

Thierry Henry says Arsenal cannot blame fatigue for their recent disappointing games against Everton and Manchester City

Thierry Henry has dismissed suggestions that tiredness could be to blame for Arsenal’s recent disappointments against Everton and Manchester City.

The north London side slumped to back to back 2-1 defeats by the Toffees and the Citizens to deal a serious blow to their Premier League title hopes.

In both games, Arsenal were leading 1-0 but were eventually pegged back before being sent to their second and third top-flight defeats of the season.

Arsene Wenger’s men appeared to struggled physically in the second half against Manchester City as goals from Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling cancelled out Theo Walcott’s opener.

However, Arsenal legend Henry has told the Gunners that they must be able to find a way to win even if they are struggling with fatigue.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday’s result, Henry said: “Yes, they looked tired but is it the reason why they lost the game? Is it really why they lost against Everton and today at Man City?

“You need to find a way, although you’re tired and can’t do what you usually do, to win the game.”
