Thierry Henry says it is time for this Arsenal player to step up

Thierry Henry warns Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain that it is time for him to start performing regularly for Arsenal

Thierry Henry says it is time for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to start performing for Arsenal on a regular basis.

The England international has largely struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Arsenal team in recent seasons despite showing plenty of promise.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored two Premier League goals and made four assists in 13 top-flight games for the Gunners so far this season ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to Everton.

He has also scored once and set up one goal in the Champions League for Arsene Wenger’s men.

However, Henry feels that it is now time for Oxlade-Chamberlain to start delivering on a regular basis for Arsenal as the hectic festive period in the Premier League looms large.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Henry said: “We all know what a talent he is.

“You don’t judge players on their potential but what they do on the pitch.

“Oxlade-Chamberlain is starting to realise what he needs to do on a regular basis.”

Arsenal finished in second place and without a trophy last season.

The north London side have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season, when Henry was still playing for the club.
