Thierry Henry: This is what Liverpool must learn to do this season
Thierry Henry discusses Liverpool's start to the season under new boss Jurgen Klopp
Thierry Henry believes that Liverpool need to show more of a killer instinct in the Premier League this season.
The Reds have been in stuttering form in their last two games after they were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham last weekend, following their 4-3 loss to Bournemouth earlier in the month.
Liverpool have been touted as one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season in what is Jurgen Klopp’s first full campaign in charge.
The Reds do not have the distraction of European football this season as they look to focus on getting back into the top four of the Premier League.
And although Henry is a big admirer of Klopp and the impact he has had at Liverpool, the Arsenal legend feels that the Reds need to adopt a different plan for when things are not going their way.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Henry said: “Liverpool have a certain way of playing, and I admire Klopp for that. The way he is with his players is amazing.
“But when you want to win the league, and when you are 3-1 up against Bournemouth, you cannot concede three goals. The same applies to Sunday’s match against West Ham.
“When it works, we are all here praising them, but sometimes you have to know how to kill the game. You don’t have to always score. Keep the ball, make them run.
“From where the team was last season, to where they are now, Klopp has still done an amazing job.”
