Timothy Fosu-Mensah takes to social media to thank Manchester United's fans for their support this year

Timothy Fosu-Mensah has taken to social media to thank Manchester United’s fans for their support during 2016.

The defender first broke into the first team at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal last season and impressed during a handful of performances for the Red Devils.

Fosu-Mensah signed a new contract with Manchester United back in October as Jose Mourinho seemingly gave his approval to the defender and hinted that he has a big future at Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old has made a total of five appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this season but will be hoping to earn a more regular spot in the first team in the second half of the campaign.

And the defender used his personal Instagram account to pay tribute to Manchester United’s fans on social media.

Fosu-Mensah shared the picture above on the app and wrote the caption: “Thank you fans for the amazing support This year 2016 ❤️❤️ @manchesterunited #manchesterunited”
