Ian Wright states prediction for Tottenham v Burnley

The former Arsenal striker is backing Tottenham to beat Burnley

Ian Wright is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will beat Burnley at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

The Lilywhites made a swift return to winning ways on Wednesday night thanks to a 3-0 victory over Swansea City in north London following a 1-0 defeat by title rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.

Tottenham are in fifth place in the Premier League table but level on points with Jose Mourinho’s side after the Red Devils were 2-0 winners against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.

However, Spurs have the chance to restore their three-point cushion over Manchester United if the north London side can beat Burnley at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

Former Arsenal striker Wright can’t see Tottenham slipping up against Burnley given their imperious form in the Premier League at White Hart Lane in recent months.

“You look at Spurs. They’ve scored 11 goals in their last three home games. It just says it looks like they’re going to get a couple more as well,” Wright told The Sun Goals podcast.

“You can only fancy Spurs to win this game. Spurs in their current form, the current mood and what they’ve got to do to stay in touch four, these are the games they’ve got to win.”

Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season after challenging Leicester City for the title for much of the campaign.
