Michael Owen states his prediction for West Brom v Man United
Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester United's trip to West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday
Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League on Saturday by beating West Brom in their final game before Christmas.
The Red Devils head into the game on the back of their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, when goals from Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic wrapped up the three points for Jose Mourinho’s men.
United’s win over Palace in midweek left them six points adrift of the top four as the hectic festive period in the Premier League approaches.
And former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Owen is expecting to see Jose Mourinho’s men take all three points and continue their march up the table with victory at the Hawthorns on Saturday night.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “I like this West Brom side and they are quietly going about their business this term, but they will find United a different proposition to the Swansea side who conceded three to the Baggies in 13 second half minutes at the Hawthorns earlier in the week.
“United will have to roll their sleeves up to take the points, but I feel their class will prevail.”
Manchester United are aiming to break back into the top four this season after their fifth-placed finish under Louis van Gaal last term.
The Dutchman was sacked and replaced by Mourinho in the summer just days after the club won the FA Cup at Wembley.
