Willian admits he is ‘very sad’ about this situation at Chelsea

Willian admits that he is very sad to see Oscar leave Chelsea in the January transfer window

Willian has admitted that he will be “very sad” to see Oscar leave Chelsea to move to China in the January transfer window.

The Brazilian midfielder announced earlier this month that he would be leaving the Stamford Bridge club to sign for Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League when the January transfer window opens.

The 25-year-old’s move to China has come as a surprise to many following his importance to the Chelsea side in recent seasons.

And Willian has admitted that he was very upset to learn that Oscar would be leaving Stamford Bridge next month because of his close friendship with his Brazilian team-mate.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Willian said: “Oscar is a very good friend and I’m very sad to see him leave, but he’s happy so I’m happy.

“He’s going to play in China so I just want to wish him the best of luck. We will keep in touch, it doesn’t matter if he’s in China and I’m here.

“When I first arrived he helped me a lot, no doubt about that, so I want to say thank you to him for everything he did for me.”

Willian will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action with a home clash against Stoke City this weekend.
