Zlatan Ibrahimovic sends message to Man United signing

Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that Paul Pogba has now settled into life back at Manchester United following his blockbuster summer transfer

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has insisted that Paul Pogba has nothing to prove at Manchester United this season.

The French midfielder arrived back at Old Trafford from Juventus in the summer transfer window as new manager Jose Mourinho moved to bring him in as one of his first signings.

He has nothing to demonstrate, he has nothing to show

With the spotlight firmly on him following his world-record transfer, Pogba made a slow start to life back at the club.

However, the former Juve star has begun to show glimpses of just why Manchester United were willing to part with so much money to bring him back to Old Trafford with some sparkling displays in recent weeks.

Fellow summer signing Ibrahimovic feels that Pogba is now settling into his role back at Manchester United and is expecting big things from the Frenchman in the coming weeks and months.

Speaking in an interview with ESPN FC, Ibrahimovic said: “I think when Paul came, in his first period in United, let’s say the first month, I think he wanted to demonstrate too much that he was worth the transfer that happened instead of playing his game like he knows how to play.

“When that started to cool down, he started to play like he knows how to play, and he makes it more easier for himself, doesn’t need to demonstrate because everyone knows who Paul is, what he has been doing at Juventus for the past three to four years, what he’s able to do, and now he’s playing more like Pogba.”

The former Sweden international has also insisted that Pogba has nothing to prove to anyone at Manchester United.

“He has nothing to demonstrate, he has nothing to show,” he continued.

“He just needs to enjoy the game and help the team like he’s doing now. So now he’s playing like a mature player and you see the results.”
