Zlatan Ibrahimovic: This star has been the base of the Man United team
Zlatan Ibrahimovic hails Marcos Rojo as the base of the Manchester United team this season
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hailed Marcos Rojo as the “base” of the Manchester United team and has praised the defender for his strong displays for the Red Devils this season.
Rojo has been in good form for the Red Devils this season and has been a regular fixture at the heart of Manchester United’s defence.
The Argentina international had struggled to find consistent form for the Red Devils but has now firmly established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet under new boss Jose Mourinho.
And Swedish striker Ibrahimovic has heaped praise on Rojo for the impact he has made at Manchester United this season.
Speaking in an interview with ESPN, Ibrahimovic said: “The world sees only the player, I see the person and the player. And I can say positive here, and positive there so I think Rojo has done a fantastic half-year, even in the beginning he was not playing so much and then I think people were talking, which is nonsense and not important.
“Since he came in he has done a fantastic job so like we knew he could do, because we are seeing it every day in training.
“The coach is there to find the collective part before the individual. Because when he has the collective, he can start playing with the individual, so he needs to find his base. And Rojo has been in that base, so I’m happy.”

Manchester United finished in fifth place in the Premier League and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last term before the Dutchman was sacked and replaced by Mourinho back in May.
Ibrahimovic signed for the Red Devils on a free transfer in the summer.
