Alexis Sanchez: I always offer this Arsenal advice to Mesut Ozil

The Arsenal forward lifts the lid on his advice for Mesut Ozil

Alexis Sanchez says he is always telling his Arsenal team-mate Mesut Ozil to enjoy his football.

The Germany international has been in good form for the north London side this season after a return of five goals and four assists in 19 appearances in the Premier League.

Ozil scored his first hat-trick for Arsenal in a 6-0 victory over Bulgarian side Ludogorets in the Champions League group stage earlier this term.

However, the World Cup winner’s record is dwarfed in comparison to Sanchez’s impressive stats for the 2016-17 campaign so far.

Sanchez has netted 15 times and has made seven goals for his team-mates in his best season at the Emirates Stadium to date.

Speaking to Arsenal’s website about their club-record signing, Sanchez lifted the lid on his advice for Ozil.

“Mesut is a quality player – he really enjoys playing football. I always tell him to enjoy it and not get too worried about scoring,” Sanchez said.

“If he enjoys it he can score more like the one against Ludogorets where he dribbled past two defenders and the goalkeeper. His goal against Ludogorets is the kind of goal every player dreams of.

“I feel very comfortable playing alongside him. He has a great vision and there’s no need to praise his great touch because everyone knows about it.”

Ozil moved to Arsenal in a £42.5m deal from La Liga outfit Real Madrid in the 2013 summer transfer window.

Sanchez followed the German to the Premier League from La Liga less than 12 months later after he swapped Barcelona for the Gunners.
