Alexis Sanchez makes honest admission about Arsenal and Thierry Henry
The Arsenal forward reveals what Gunners icon he would have like to have played alongside
Alexis Sanchez has admitted that he would have relished the chance to play alongside Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
The Chile international has established himself as one of Arsene Wenger’s key players over the past couple of seasons following his £35m move to Arsenal from Barcelona in the 2014 summer transfer window.
Sanchez has proven an instrumental figure in Arsenal’s title bid this term after an impressive return of 15 goals and seven assists in 22 appearances in the Premier League.
The Gunners forward has the chance to emulate Henry and fire the north London side to title glory after the France legend scored 30 times in Arsenal’s most-recent Premier League title success.
Speaking to Arsenal’s website, the South American was asked to name the Arsenal legend that he would have liked to have as a team-mate. Sanchez said:
“I would like to have played with Henry,” Sanchez told Arsenal’s website.
“He could score, play one-twos with you, pass the ball, hold it… he had a huge repertoire and great vision too. I like playing with players with such a panoramic vision.”
Arsenal are in second place in the Premier League table and eight points adrift of current leaders Chelsea with 16 games to play.
Sanchez scored 16 times in his first season at Arsenal.
