Ander Herrera admits he hopes that he can continue to be an important player at Man United

Ander Herrera has admitted that he hopes he can continue to be an important player at Manchester United in the seasons to come.

The Spanish midfielder has established himself as a regular starter in the first team at Old Trafford following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.

Herrera has been a key cog in the Red Devils’ midfield along with Michael Carrick and Paul Pogba.

The Red Devils have been in much improved form in recent weeks and have won their last six games in a row in the Premier League to boost their hopes of securing a top-four finish.

Herrera has made three assists in 17 Premier League games for the Red Devils this season to help them challenge for Champions League qualification.

And the midfielder is hoping to play an important role at Manchester United in the seasons to come.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Herrera said: “We are Man United and we have to respect our history and fight for everything and we have the conditions to do it because we have a very good squad.
