Andrea Belotti not thinking about Arsenal switch: I can’t let it go to my head
Serie A hotshot Andrea Belotti plays down reported interest from Arsenal in the Torino striker
Andrea Belotti insists he isn’t letting interest from the Premier League go to his head after Torino’s sporting director confirmed that Arsenal have made an offer for the centre-forward.
The Serie A club’s chief Gianluca Petrachi claimed in an interview with Sky Italia – as quoted by Sky Sports – that Torino turned down a £56m offer from Arsenal for their star striker.
Belotti has emerged as one of the most-exciting talents in Europe after a sensational return of 13 goals and three assists in 16 appearances in Serie A in the 2016-17 season so far.
The 23-year-old netted 12 times in 35 appearances in Serie A in his first season at Torino following a move to the Turin based club from their Italian rivals Palermo.
Speaking to Tuttosport about interest from the Premier League, Belotti said: “I have to continue like this, I can not let it go to my head.
“I always have to work, I hope to play a good 2017 to conquer my dreams. The Premier League? I do not think [about it], I only think about Torino and to do well here, then we will see.”
Arsenal signed uncapped Spanish forward Lucas Perez in a £17m deal from La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna in the summer transfer window.
Olivier Giroud has scored four times in his last four games in all competitions.
