Antonio Conte delivers latest January transfer update to Chelsea fans

Antonio Conte reveals his plans for the January transfer window at Chelsea...

Antonio Conte has told Chelsea fans that the Blues are actively looking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.

The west London side have made a superb start to the Premier League season under their new manager following Conte’s appointment as the club’s boss back in the summer.

Chelsea are flying high at the top of the Premier League table and are currently five points clear of second-placed Liverpool, despite losing their most recent top-flight outing 2-0 to Tottenham.

There is bound to be plenty of speculation over the coming days about which players the Blues could be set to make a move for in the January transfer window.

And although Conte has confirmed that the Blues are open to the idea of bringing in new players this month, he admits that it is a difficult time of year to do so.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Sunday afternoon, Conte said: “My club knows my opinion. In January it’s not easy.

“In this window it’s very difficult to find great players but we are seeing if we are able to find the opportunity to improve this team.

“We will continue with these players, Ake is coming back and Kenedy and Musonda are working with us. It’s important for me to evaluate this profile and make the best decision.

“We are at the top of the table with this squad and I’m grateful to my players for this. If we find the opportunity to improve the squad, we will do it, but I’m very happy to work with this group of players.”
