Antonio Conte drops hint about January Chelsea transfers

Antonio Conte discusses his January transfer window plans for Chelsea

Antonio Conte has revealed that he is working closely with Chelsea officials over the prospect of signing new players to bolster his squad this January but says that the Blues are not currently close to making any deals.

The west London club are likely to be linked with a host of players this month as Conte considers bolstering his squad to boost the Blues’ Premier League title hopes.

Chelsea are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table despite the disappointment of their 2-0 loss to Tottenham in midweek.

The Blues are looking to win the Premier League title this season after the disappointment of their 10th-placed finish in the top flight last term.

And Conte says that Chelsea are working on some ideas to bolster their squad this month.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday morning, Conte said: “In January it is always difficult to buy great players because the other teams don’t want to sell. To buy only to buy, I don’t like.

“Not closer, but we have some ideas about this. We are working around these ideas.”
