Antonio Conte opens up about John Terry at Chelsea this season

Antonio Conte talks up the role that John Terry has been playing at Chelsea this season

Antonio Conte has talked up the importance of John Terry to the Chelsea team this season despite the captain’s lack of playing time.

Terry has struggled with injuries in recent weeks and has only made five Premier League appearances this season for Conte’s men.

However, Terry has clearly been still playing a big role in motivating his team-mates and staying involved in the squad to help the Blues continue their fine form.

Chelsea are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night after having won their last 13 games on the spin in the top flight.

And Conte has made a point of talking up the influence that Terry has had at Chelsea so far this season.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Conte said: “I want to mention John Terry also, because John is very important for us, even when he’s not playing.

“He helps us a lot in the changing room and in the training sessions, and I want to say thanks to him as well because his support is very important.”
