Antonio Conte opens up on Chelsea youngster: He can prove a point

Antonio Conte suggests that Charly Musonda can earn a spot in the Chelsea first team this season

Antonio Conte believes that Charly Musonda will have a great chance to prove himself at Chelsea in the next few months.

The Belgian winger has been training with Chelsea’s first team in recent weeks after his loan spell at Real Betis ended early.

Musonda will be hoping to earn a spot in the Chelsea first team under Conte in the coming weeks and months as he looks to prove himself as worthy as a spot in the Blues side.

Chelsea are currently flying high at the top of the table and Musonda is sure to face plenty of competition in trying to break into the the first team.

However, Conte appears to have opened the possibility to Musonda earning a spot by hinting that he is not planning to send the player out on loan again.

Speaking at a Chelsea news conference on Friday morning, Conte said: “Charly is a good prospect. He has the quality to become a great player. For this reason, it’s a good opportunity for him and for me to work in this five months with him and try to improve him.

“If he shows me this month he deserves to play, he will go into the team. I like this type of player and I want to work with this player. I see this player for the present and for the future.”
