Antonio Conte sends warning to Chelsea players ahead of Tottenham clash

Antonio Conte takes an opportunity to warn his Chelsea players that the hard work starts now in 2017

Antonio Conte has warned his Chelsea players that the hard work starts now as the Blues look to continue their strong start to the season in 2017.

The west London club were 4-2 winners over Stoke City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as they stretched their winning run in the Premier League to 13 games.

The Blues have established themselves as the firm favourites to win the Premier League title this season following their brilliant run under their new boss.

However, Conte has warned his Chelsea stars that they will have their work cut out if they want to turn their dominant form into the title come May.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Conte said: “The first part of the season was incredible for us but it will be very difficult to repeat this run.

“The second part of the season will be very difficult for us. We started the season as underdogs and now we have the light on us, we must know this and work more to find the right solution to try to win in every game. Today we are very happy.”

Chelsea’s impressive form this season is in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they ended up 10th and without a trophy following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
