Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to make surprise Premier League signing – report

Chelsea are being linked with a move to sign West Ham full-back Michail Antonio in the summer, according to reports

Antonio Conte has highlighted West Ham United wing-back Michail Antonio as a surprise target for Chelsea in the January transfer window, say reports.

The Sun are reporting that the Chelsea manager has been impressed with the Englishman’s performances in a variety of positions in Slavan Bilic’s West Ham side.

Antonio has scored eight goals in 19 appearances in the Premier League this season after producing the best form of his career so far despite West Ham’s well-documented struggles.

The West Ham defender was particularly impressive in the east London side’s 2-0 win against Chelsea in the EFL Cup at the London Stadium in October.

The Sun state that Conte has surprisingly included Antonio in his January transfer wish list despite the impressive form of his current wing-backs Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses.

Chelsea signed five players in the summer transfer window following Conte’s appointment as their new manager after their dreadful campaign under Jose Mourinho and then Guus Hiddink last term.
