Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger invites question from reporter then replies with this

Arsene Wenger was in a playful mood at his Arsenal news conference on Thursday morning...

Arsene Wenger poked fun at the media on Thursday morning as he was quizzed about the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.

The pair’s situations at The Emirates have been relentless sources of speculation in recent weeks after they both entered into the final two years of their contracts at the north London club.

Both Ozil and Sanchez are believed to be in talks with Arsenal about the possibility of extending their contracts beyond the summer of 2018.

And Wenger was in a playful mood as he addressed the speculation about the pair’s futures at his pre-match news conference at London Colney on Thursday morning.

One of the reporters at the news conference said: “I won’t ask you about Sanchez and Ozil again, but…”

To which Wenger replied: “Oh, you can if you want.”

“So is there news?” the reporter asked.

“No,” smiled Wenger.

Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Burnley at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
