Arsenal legend talks up Man United signing: He’s one of those players
Alan Smith has been hugely impressed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's impact at Manchester United this season
Alan Smith has heaped praise on Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the striker’s strong start to the season under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
The Sweden international has been one of the Premier League’s top strikers since his arrival at Old Trafford on a free transfer last summer.
Ibrahimovic has scored 13 goals and made three assists in 19 Premier League games for Jose Mourinho’s men after a bright start to his career at Old Trafford.
There had been doubts about the 35-year-old’s ability to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League, but the veteran forward seems to have quickly gotten used to English football.
And Smith has been hugely impressed by what he has seen from Ibrahimovic so far this season at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Manchester United’s win over West Ham on Monday, Smith said: “He’s one of those players. The forward lads in particular look up to him and what he’s achieved.
“What he’s achieving now at the age of 35, the drive and the hunger he’s still got… he’s still got it in his tank.
“He’s loving every minute of it and is an inspiration to people like Rashford and Mkhitaryan. And that’s without Wayne Rooney. There are so many choices now for Jose Mourinho.”
Manchester United have won their last six Premier League games in a row under Mourinho.
