Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Arsenal v Burnley
Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to Arsenal's Premier League clash with Burnley on Saturday afternoon
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Arsenal to beat Burnley 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The north London side returned to winning ways in style last weekend with a thumping 4-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Arsenal have a lot of work to do if they want to haul themselves back into the title race, with Arsene Wenger’s men currently in fourth place in the table and eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
The Gunners are looking to go one better than last season, when they ended up second in the table and 10 points behind champions Leicester City.
However, former Liverpool star Lawrenson is backing Arsenal to secure the three points against Burnley at The Emirates this weekend.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Burnley are 10th despite taking only one point from nine away league games this season.
“They gave Arsenal a good game at Turf Moor and the Gunners only grabbed a winner in injury time.
“I do not see this game being anything like as close, such is the difference between Burnley at home and Burnley away.
“The Clarets have not really been ripped apart since West Brom beat them 4-0 in November.
“They will be competitive and difficult to play against at Emirates Stadium, but they just don’t make enough chances to win games on the road.”
Arsenal booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Preston North End earlier this month.
