Arsenal will offer £51m to sign striker to replace Alexis Sanchez – report
Arsenal have earmarked Borussia Dortmund forward as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez if Chilean leaves, according to reports
Arsenal are ready to offer £51m (€60m) to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus as Alexis Sanchez’s replacement if the forward leaves The Emirates, according to reports in the British media.
Football reporter Emanuele Giulianelli has written an exclusive with whoscored.com that claims Arsenal are ready to spend a club-record fee on the Germany international should Sanchez opt to leave the north London club in the summer.
The same article states that the Gunners want to be prepared in the event that Sanchez decides to leave the Premier League side, although Arsenal are keen to keep the Chile international in their ranks.
The same story goes on to say that Arsene Wenger will open negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over the possibility of signing highly-rated Reus as a like-for-like replacement for Sanchez.
Giulianelli claims in his exclusive report that Arsenal have started discussions with the Bundesliga giants over a fee in the region of £51m (€60m), although any proposed transfer won’t happen until the summer.
Reus has scored one goal and has made three assists in five league games.
