Arsene Wenger has claimed that his current Arsenal team has the best attacking talent of any of his previous sides – including the Invincibles.
The north London side have been in fine form in recent weeks and secured their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a thumping 5-0 win over Southampton at the weekend.
Danny Welbeck scored twice in that win following his return from injury as one of Arsenal’s top attacking talents.
The Gunners also have the likes of Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and Lucas Perez at their disposal up front.
And Wenger feels that he has never had an Arsenal team with as much attacking talent before as his current crop.
Wenger was quoted as saying by The Daily Express before Tuesday’s Premier League clash with Watford: “Yes, certainly numbers wise and quality wise together. We have never so many players who could perform and score goals, certainly.
“Bergkamp and Henry had the quality but we did not have a large number. We had Sylvain Wiltord and Robert Pires as well so it was not bad.
“I don’t know how to manage them. Sometimes you consider the problem you face, sometimes you consider the fitness of the players, the fact that for example they have played three days before – have they recovered or not?
“You just try to be honest in your decision and keep everybody on board.”
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League table last season and 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City.
