Arsene Wenger has played down the chances of Arsenal making any signings in the January transfer window.
The north London side are likely to be linked with a host of players during the mid-season window as Wenger considers bolstering his squad ahead of a possible title charge.
Porto defender Ricardo Pereira is one of the recent names to have been touted as a possible transfer target for Arsenal in the British media this week.
However, Wenger has insisted that it is always difficult to find the right players in the January transfer window and has instead switched the focus on Arsenal getting their injured players back fit as soon as possible.
Speaking at a news conference at Arsenal’s training ground on Thursday morning, Wenger delivered a thorough update on the Gunners’ plans for the month.
Wenger said: “In our club, who is going out? Nobody at the moment. Who is coming in? Nobody.
“The best way would’ve been to get Santi Cazorla back, to get Danny Welbeck back.
“Anyway, there is very little hope to find players of that quality in the January transfer market.
“So the best way to deal with that is to get our injured players back.”
Arsenal are preparing to host Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup at The Emirates on Saturday night.
