Ex-midfielder makes reluctant admission about Tottenham star

Jody Morris heaps praise on Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli after Chelsea's 2-0 loss at White Hart Lane

Dele Alli will become a top player at Tottenham Hotspur, according to former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris.

The England international scored twice in the London derby at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night after Tottenham eased to a 2-0 win against Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Alli broke the deadlock in added time at the end of the first half with a close-range header before the 20-year-old got on the end of another Christian Eriksen cross to extend their lead in north London.

The attacking midfielder has now scored 10 times in 19 appearances in the Premier League this term to equal his tally from his first campaign in the English top flight.

The former MK Dons star was named the PFA young player of the year after his return of 10 goals in 33 games to help Tottenham challenge for the 2015-16 title.

Former Chelsea midfielder Morris, who is currently an Under-18’s coach at the west London club, conceded that he has been impressed with Alli’s performances.
