Chelsea consider two players in search of first January signing – report
Chelsea are interested in Diego Lopez and Tim Kurl as potential second-choice goalkeepers, say reports
Chelsea are looking at the possibility of signing AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez or Newcastle United shot stopper Tim Krul if Asmir Begovic leaves in January, according to reports in the British media.
The Guardian are claiming that Begovic is closing in on a move to their Premier League rivals Bournemouth as the Bosnia-Herzegovina international looks to secure regular first-team football after falling behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order at the west London outfit.
The same article states that Antonio Conte has identified AC Milan goalkeeper Lopez as a potential option to become the west London side’s next number two, having previously played for La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The story goes on to suggest that Chelsea are also considering Newcastle shot stopper Krul as a potential signing in the January transfer window.
Courtois has kept 13 clean sheets in the 2016-17 season so far as the Belgium international continues to help the Premier League leaders underline their status as title favourites.
