Chelsea legend makes prediction about Man United in the title race

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is expecting to see Manchester United challenge for the Premier League title this season

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that Chelsea’s loss to Tottenham has thrown the title race open for the likes of Manchester United.

The west London club suffered their first defeat in 13 outings in the Premier League as they were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham at White Hart Lane thanks to Dele Alli’s two goals.

Chelsea are still five points clear at the top of the Premier League table following the loss but it has allowed the likes of Spurs and Manchester United to gain ground on the leaders.

Manchester United are still in sixth place and 10 points behind Antonio Conte’s Premier League leaders.

However, Chelsea legend Hasselbaink feels that Jose Mourinho’s men can still have a big say in the Premier League title race.

Speaking to Sky Sports immediately after Chelsea’s loss to Spurs, Hasselbaink said: “You have to include all six [top six in the table] in the Premier League title race.

“Man United can go on a run. The individual matches are going to be very interesting now.

“If Man United can win them, they will get close. You have to include them all.”
