Chelsea legend: What Antonio Conte’s men need to do after Tottenham setback
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink offers Chelsea some advice after their 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea will need to try and get on a winning run again after their 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, according to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
The Blues made the short trip to White Hart Lane in search of a 14th successive Premier League win to equal Arsenal’s record and move eight points clear of second-place Liverpool.
However, Dele Alli scored either side of half-time to inflict upon the west London side their first Premier League defeat since a 3-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea are still five points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table ahead of their trip to defending Premier League champions Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday 14 January.
Former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink offered some advice to Conte and his Blues players ahead of their next top-flight clash.
“For Chelsea I think it’s about looking at the game first and then forgetting about the result. They have to try and get on a run again. That’s going to be the objective,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports News HQ.
“Can they do it again? I think if you make those kinds of runs in the season, you will be champions.”
Chelsea beat Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur during their winning run.
The west London side finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last term.
