Chelsea ready to rival Man United for No1 transfer target – report

Antonio Conte has made Victor Lindelof his number one transfer target for Chelsea in the summer, according to reports

Chelsea are ready to do battle with Premier League rivals Manchester United for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Antonio Conte is interested in the Sweden international as the Chelsea manager looks to bolster his defensive options in the summer transfer window.

Lindelof has emerged as one of the most in-demand defenders in Europe after being regularly linked with a move to Manchester United in the 2016-17 season so far.

The same article states that the Red Devils were ready to line up a £38m offer for Benfica defender Lindelof in the summer.

However, the story suggests that Conte has made the 23-year-old his number one summer target which could force Manchester United’s hand.
