Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Chelsea v Peterborough
Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to Chelsea's clash with Peterborough in the FA Cup third round on Sunday
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Chelsea to bounce back to winning ways by beating Peterborough 3-0 in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Blues head into the game looking to respond after the disappointment of their 2-0 loss at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.
Chelsea do not have the distraction of European football this season and therefore the FA Cup represents one of the Blues’ two remaining chances to win a trophy this term.
And former Liverpool man Lawrenson is fully expecting to see the west London side claim their place in the fourth round of the cup on Sunday afternoon.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “I am expecting Chelsea versus Peterborough to be pretty one sided in favour of the Premier League leaders. 3-0.”
Chelsea are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League table and are five points clear of second-placed Liverpool.
The Blues finished 10th in the top flight last term.
