Michael Owen states his prediction for Chelsea v Peterborough

Michael Owen looks ahead to Chelsea's clash with Peterborough in the FA Cup on Sunday

Michael Owen is fully expecting to see Chelsea bounce back to winning ways when they host Peterborough in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

The Blues suffered the disappointment of a 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane last week as goals from Dele Alli either side of half-time condemned Chelsea to their first Premier League defeat in 13 games.

Chelsea have been the Premier League’s most consistent team this season and still lead the way at the top of the Premier League table, five points clear of Liverpool.

And former Liverpool striker Owen is fully expecting to see Antonio Conte’s men put the disappointment of their loss to Spurs behind them when they host Peterborough at Stamford Bridge.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “The title leaders weren’t quite at their best at White Hart Lane earlier in the week but they should be proud of their magnificent achievement in winning 13 successive games in the Premier League.

“I expect the Blues to bounce back at the Bridge on Sunday.”
