David De Gea: What I really think about Jose Mourinho at Man United

David De Gea opens up on what it has been like working for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United this season

David De Gea has admitted that he has been hugely impressed with his first few months of working with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

The Portuguese coach has been tasked with restoring Manchester United to the top of English football following their fifth-placed finish last season.

It has been a mixed start under new boss Mourinho, with the Red Devils struggling to find consistent form in the top flight for much of the campaign.

However, Manchester United seem to have found their feet in recent games and have been in more consistent form.

And De Gea has lifted the lid on what it has been like working with Mourinho on a daily basis at Manchester United this season.

Speaking in an interview with United Review, De Gea said: “He’s a really great manager.

“He’s a winner; he wants to win every game, every competition. He’s working hard, he’s really close to the players and I think that’s really good.

“He’s always joking with us, he’s a strong character and that’s good. Things are more positive and he’s a winner. You can feel he wants to win and I think the players know that we have to.”

Manchester United finished in fifth place in the Premier League and won the FA Cup last season under Louis van Gaal before the Dutchman was sacked and replaced by Mourinho back in May.
