Eden Hazard sends message to Chelsea fans about Tottenham defeat

Eden Hazard has his say about Chelsea's loss to Tottenham in the Premier League earlier this month

Eden Hazard has played down the significance of Chelsea’s defeat by Tottenham earlier this month as the Blues continue their push for the Premier League title.

The west London side were halted by Mauricio Pochettino’s men earlier this month as they were beaten 2-0 by the Lilywhites at White Hart Lane.

Chelsea had been on a 13-game winning run before that clash and Tottenham earned plenty of praise for being able to stop the Blues at their home ground thanks to two goals from Dele Alli.

Nevertheless, Chelsea returned to winning ways on Saturday night with a convincing 3-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

And Hazard feels that there was no shame in losing to Tottenham at White Hart Lane earlier this month.

Speaking in an interview with the Chelsea magazine, Hazard said: “The system is good and the players around me are doing well. This season everyone is playing at their top level – except for one game against Tottenham, but we can’t win every game.

“We enjoy to play in this system and we don’t have to be sad after losing to Tottenham because football is difficult and you can’t win every game.

“Two years ago we lost 5-3 there and at the end of the season we finished as champions, so I hope for the same this season.

“We will see – we have a lot of games to play, but we are ready for the challenge.”
